Foci Site Contract

Prater Raines Ltd agree to provide, set-up and host a database driven website to be updated and maintained by the party named at the foot of this agreement, or their nominated webmaster.

Prater Raines Ltd will provide our standard Liberal Democrat "Foci" Web Site service on an "as is" basis, and will use its best endeavours to ensure that the site performs as expected throughout. Prater Raines Ltd will seek to maintain and upgrade the code set and functionality on an ongoing basis.

The cost of the standard Lib Dem site as supplied by Prater Raines Ltd is £17 +VAT per month plus a one-off £42 +VAT set-up fee. Monthly site fees are invoiced quarterly in advance until the end of the agreement / mandate as detailed below, and are due on production of invoice.

Site fees are invoiced quarterly in advance (until any end of the agreement / mandate as detailed below), and cover one .uk domain name registration or transfer, full database-enabled website hosting, initial site set-up, training in updating the site and ongoing telephone and email support. Quarterly fees are due on production of invoice.

Site updating, including updating of news, events, news stories and photographs is entirely the responsibility of the below named party. Prater Raines Ltd will offer training and support by phone and email, but is in no way liable for the updating of sites, with the exception of the automatically updating features such as National News headlines and Quotes feed.

Prater Raines Ltd request that you act legally when updating your site, including observing copyright on the use of others images and work. We provide a copyright free photo gallery and you can use images that other Foci sites have made available within that photo library. We ask that you also make your photos available on the same basis to others to make the gallery as useful as possible to all users.

If the site errors in any way, please inform Prater Raines Ltd either in writing, by email or phone. We will investigate and seek to rectify such errors, and advise of the outcome. If at any time you see an error in your site or an instance of the site behaving unexpectedly, you should inform us as soon as possible - what we don't know about we can't fix.

If beyond our standard package you want, either at launch or in the future, to add other options (such as additional domain names) we would agree the costs - either fixed or quarterly - in advance.

After set-up, the domain names are the property of the registering party. Prater Raines Ltd will manage and administer the names and hosting arrangements on your behalf, but will provide full details to the local party. In the instance that Tim Prater or Prater Raines Ltd is named as the registrant of the site, we therefore agree without reservation to transfer the above named sites to your designated contact if so required.

Termination of this agreement is by email or on writing offering 1 month's written notice in the case of termination by the local party, or 3 months' in the case of termination by Prater Raines Ltd. Fees for code maintenance, support, domain management and web-hosting support are payable in advance, and these fees are not refundable. On termination of any agreement, any domain name registered on your behalf will be surrendered to you by Prater Raines Ltd.

This agreement allows for the use of the service until termination. The code set and database of the site on which the service runs remains the property of Prater Raines Ltd at all times.

Hosting is provided on servers run and maintained by Prater Raines Ltd. We seek to ensure the maximum up-times and a fast service through hosting this server with a reputable ISP with high up-times and a fast backbone connection to the internet. We will provide email forwarding for all mail to your domain to a specified email address within this contract. For an additional fee of £2.10 +VAT we can provide a fully featured POP / IMAP email account to use in conjunction with your site, allowing the sending and receiving of emails. Email accounts are subject to a reasonable use file size and bandwidth policy.

As a responsible internet service provider, Prater Raines Ltd reserve the right to withdraw from any site any item for which we have received reasonable notification may be libellous. In doing so, we will seek to act quickly in informing the site owner, and to seek clarification, either prior to or after the removal of the article in question. In acting as the manager of a website, you are taking full legal responsibilty for all material published.
