Liberal Democrat News Feeds
Prater Raines provides two news feed services which you can use free of charge on your Liberal Democrat web site.
RSS feeds
If your web site application supports RSS feeds, we have feeds available which merge the content from existing Liberal Democrat news feeds and present them together.
These feeds are now generated using Yahoo! Pipes, a free online service that lets you remix feeds using a visual editor. If you are registered with Yahoo! and logged in you can view the source for all the pipes and can "clone" them and make your own changes. To get the RSS address for a pipe, choose "More options" and then "Get as RSS".
- British Liberal Democrat news (Westminster, Scottish, and Welsh): http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=HrAkGSpP3RG_TAQqjknRlg&_render=rss;
- Federal Liberal Democrat news (as above and European): http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=f5155abef8cf331a1fece4bc1a9da82f&_render=rss;
- Lib Dem Women in Parliament: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=8Pneh2vs3BGu2lCkX0sBXw&_render=rss.
In addition, the four constituent parts of our British and Federal feeds are available from other Liberal Democrat web sites and are listed here for your convenience.
- Liberal Democrat news from Westminster: http://feeds.libdems.org.uk/libdemnews?format=xml;
- The "News from Liberal Democrat MEPs" feed has disappeared in what appears to be a rebuild of the MEP website. The site doesn't look finished yet so we're not suggesting an alternative feed for the time being.
- Welsh Liberal Democrat news: http://www.welshlibdems.org.uk/e-rss.php;
- Scottish Liberal Democrat news: http://www.scotlibdems.org.uk/rss.xml.
JavaScript news feed insert
If your web site does not support RSS, we can generate HTML code which should work on any web site. This uses JavaScript (a scripting language which runs on your visitors' web browsers) to insert a list of the latest headlines.
You can generate the HTML to insert into your web page with the form below.
Terms and conditions
- The terms below apply to both the JavaScript news feeds and the merged RSS feeds above. The other four RSS feeds are not provided by Prater Raines Ltd.
- This service is provided by Prater Raines Ltd free of charge, with the agreement of the Liberal Democrats.
- The feeds are supplied without warranty but we will try to help if you are experiencing problems with implementation or use.
- The copyright message must be displayed adjacent to the news feed. For the Westminster, British, European, and federal feeds, the message must read "© 2010 The Liberal Democrats"; for the Scottish feed "© 2010 Scottish Liberal Democrats" for the Welsh feed "© 2010 Welsh Liberal Democrats".
- We'd appreciate an acknowledgement adjacent to your use of the news feed. Please consider linking to our home page or this page with the text "Provided by Prater Raines Ltd".
- We may monitor and record where the service is being used. We reserve the right to contact you if you are using the service.
